Our Mission
Conservancy Friends of Aquarina, Inc. is a legacy foundation that advocates for education, conservation, restoration, and preservation on the Barrier Island of Melbourne Beach, Florida. Our focus is on raising environmental awareness and supporting partners that protect and preserve the Barrier Island’s precious and fragile native flora and fauna.
We live in the Archie Carr National Wildlife Refuge which stretches across 20.5 miles of beach and shoreline between Melbourne Beach and Wabasso Beach in Sebastian. This refuge protects sea turtles nesting grounds along the Atlantic Ocean and natural habitats in and along the Indian River Lagoon.
Could you imagine what our little paradise would be without sea turtles, manatees, dolphins, white pelicans, roseate spoonbills and osprey populations? Help us to preserve and conserve our natural resources.
Continuing a Legacy
Our organization was the concept of three visionaries from Aquarina: Patrick Pollock, Joe Smith and Jim Kay. They were committed to protecting the wildlife and aquatic life and their natural habitats and ecosystems in our immediate community. Our Conservancy is committed to making their dreams a reality as we partner with and support organizations that share our vision and mission.
Your support of our organization would be deeply appreciated as we strive to save endangered species and restore the Indian River Lagoon and the Atlantic Ocean shores to their natural and pristine conditions.
Memorial gifts are always welcome.
