The Wild Florida Rescue Ambulance is the first of its kind in Florida. Their mission is: “to provide a safe and compassionate emergency first response for wildlife in need of urgent medical attention.” Officially founded in 2017, co-founders Matthew Buice and Heather Pepe run rescue operations 24 hours a day / 7 days a week throughout all of Brevard County as wildlife emergency first responders.
- Respond, Search, Rescue and Transport the sick / injured animal to emergency care
- Rescue / Release and Reunite baby animals with parents.
WFR picks up all wildlife needing help, including non-native / exotic species. WFR is NOT a trapping service or a nuisance animal removal service. No venomous snakes or reptiles.
Call Volume:
- 2017 – 2,960 Calls
- 2022 – 7,548 Calls
- 2023 – 6,554 Calls
WFR Wildlife Emergency Dispatch Control can be reached, when you find wildlife needing help, at: 321.821.7881.

Your donations to Conservancy Friends of Aquarina allow us to provide funding for these programs. In 2024, in response to their proposal, we provided:
- $5,000 towards a wildlife rescue vehicle
And based on the fantastic presentation we received from Heather Pepe at Earth Day in the Spring of 2024, we are looking forward to continuing to work with WFR as a charity partner.
